Wineskin Para Mac Os Catalina

Unofficial Wineskin and all of its components are 64Bit bar WSGamma due to the lack of source. Wineskin Engines are Wine, meaning if Wine doesn’t work on on macOS Catalina, only CrossOver19 when launched will function on macOS Catalina and I don’t plan on building that on day one.

  • Integrated fntoggle directly into Wineskin.app, now you can have Standard F keys during wrapper usage. Wine versions not compatible with 'mac driver' will have that option disabled. Fixed a long standing bug from official Wineskin 'Command Line Wine Test' now works as intended. Ability to map Command as Ctrl (wine 3.17 and above).
  • PSA: Don’t update to macOS Catalina if you want to use Wineskin! The new macOS Catalina update has just been released, adding some new features and updated apps, however a major change that sticks out the most in this case is that Catalina will no longer support / be able to run 32-bit apps.

Installing WineHQ packages

Official WineHQ packages of the development and stable branches are available for macOS 10.8 to 10.14 (Wine won't work on macOS Catalina 10.15). Please test these packages and report any bugs at http://bugs.winehq.org.

Prerequisites:

  1. XQuartz >= 2.7.7
  2. Gatekeeper must not be set to block unsigned packages.

Installing:

Both .pkg files and tarball archives are available at https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/macosx/download.html.

Installing from a .pkg file is recommended for inexperienced users.

To install from a .pkg file, double-click on the package, and the usual macOS installer wizard should open. The process should be self-explanatory. It is possible to install the package either for all users (needs administrator privileges), or just for your current user. After the installation is finished, you should find an entry 'Wine Staging' or 'Wine Devel' in your Launchpad. By clicking on it, a new Terminal window opens with a short introduction into some important wine commands. You can now directly start wine/winecfg/... from the Terminal, as the PATH variable is set correctly. For user convenience, the package also associates itself with all *.exe files, which means you can run windows executables just by double-clicking on them.

To install from a tarball archive, simply unpack it into any directory. There is no need to set DYLD_* environment variables; all paths are relative, so it should work as long as the directory structure is preserved (you can skip the /usr prefix though using --strip-components 1).

  • Check the hidden directory `$HOME/.local/` where Wine stores some desktop menu entries and icon files as it interoperates with the X.Org Foundation and the Free Desktop.

Note: Files in this directory are unused on macOS unless you use a UNIX window manager and other X11 applications instead of the native MacOS apps.

Third Party Versions

Third party versions of Wine, such as Wineskin, Winebottler, and PlayOnMac, are not supported by WineHQ. If you are using one of those products, please retest in plain Wine before filing bugs, submitting AppDB test reports, or asking for help on the forum or in IRC.

Since the unofficial Wrapper was integrated, there seems there have been some nasty bugs in Portingkit. Most of the problems were related on both sides having a few issues which ended up in some install failures. Most of them are now luckily fixed and Porting Kit is because of that much more stable now. Thanks to some good troubleshooting of Gcenx and Vitor, we have Portingkit way more where we want it to be.

Update upcoming 64bit only 10.15 Catalina:
Although the good news above, here also a status update of the coming of the new Mac OS 10.15 Catalina. We haven’t processed a lot yet because of lot’s work/business in out private lives. The first focus is a Linux version, which is in development, but is still in starting fase. So there is still lots of work to do. One thing is for sure, we will not make it when the New OS Catalina gets released. We will do our best to get a something “Virtual” around, but it will be quite later after the release of Catalina.

So if you still want to use Porting Kit after release of Catalina, make sure you turn off the the automatic update. Because if you update to Mac OS Catalina, 32bit will be totally dead and portingkit itself will open up fine, but the 32bit games will not launch anymore. “But if you create a 64bit engine, will the games then not work?” No because the games itself are still 32bit and calls one 32bit processes, which simply cannot be done anymore. Simply and plainly, Apple pulls the plug and it seems there is no way back…. So the advise!? Don’t update to OS Catalina if you love (older) games!!!
